Hoesch Breaks Career Goal Record in Drexel's 15-2 Win over Villanova

Philadelphia – Emily Hoesch (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) scored six goals as she surpassed Drexel's career goal mark set by Lee Mullray in 1992. Already, Drexel's leader in career points, Hoesch now has 152 goals as a Dragon. Hoesch tallied hat tricks in both the first and the second half as she led Drexel (3-1) to a 15-2 victory over Villanova (1-2).
Drexel controlled the ball on the offensive end throughout the first half. The Dragons led just 6-1 at halftime despite outshooting the Wildcats, 24-3, in the opening period. Villanova goalie Jessica Brozen turned away 10 Drexel shots in the first half as she kept the Wildcats in the game. The Dragons would eventually put away the game early in the second half as Drexel scored four unanswered goals in the first 10 minutes of the second stanza to lead, 10-1.
Katie Bradley (Spring City, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) tallied two goals in addition to a game-high four assists. Jessica Bill (Baldwinsville, N.Y./Baldwinsville) and Kerry Kelly (Roseland, N.J./West Essex) each added a pair of goals. For the game, Drexel out shot the Wildcats, 41-8.
Drexel will face another Philadelphia team in its next game on Sunday, March 11 at 1 p.m. as the Dragons travel to Saint Joseph's.
